It’s the morning of the NH Primary elections and some voting booths in that state have opened just after midnight this morning. Some towns like this one already closed their polling stations an
d counted their ballots.
Based on his past voting record in the US Senate, Barack Obama is the candidate of my choice and the person that I’d like to see elected President of the US in 2008. On the Republican side, things look almost comical, with John McCain, a vocal and unapologetic supporter of the Iraq fiasco leading the field. Mr. Mc Cain’s views on the issues of national defense, immigration, social policy and protection of minorities promise more of the same of what this great nation does not need. He strikes me as anemic and old. About a year ago I listened to a radio interview of his on NPR and was shocked at McCain’s lack of knowledge about pretty much any topic that was presented to him. "I don’t know" was his most used phrase. From a liberal point of view his voting record in the Senate is dismal.
Here’s my prediction for tonight’s NH Primary results:
| Barack Obama | 40% | John McCain | 30% |
| John Edwards | 30% | Mitt Romney | 28% |
| Hillary Clinton | 25% | Rudi Giuliani | 13% |
| Bill Richardson | 5% | Mike Huckabee | 12% |
| Ron Paul | 13% | ||
| Fred Thompson | 4% | ||
| Duncan Hunter | 0% |
Tidbit: Today is the warmest weather on a NH primary date in the last 40 years, or so. With temps expected to reach 62 in Nashua, NH. High voter turnout is always a good thing, especially for Barack Obama, not voting is always stupid. Vote!

[...] that’s the way it goes. My predictions on the outcome of yesterday’s NH Primaries were, shall we say, less than accurate. [...]
