Tomorrow is the day of the Pennsylvania Democratic primary. The news media has been keeping this non-event alive and well out of self interest for the past couple of weeks even though there is no way that Sen. Clinton can accomplish anything by winning a majority of the popular vote in this large state. My guess is that she’ll will the popular vote in PA by 4-6% but that does not mean much in the all-important delegate race. Here she is trailing Sen. Obama by about 10% at the moment with no chance of making up the difference with the remaining couple of primary states, most of which will go for Sen. Obama.
Ms. Clinton chose to go very negative in her political adds, which is unfortunate but in the long run will not mean much. In a couple of weeks she’s going to be forgotten and Mr. Obama will be the Democratic Presidential candidate. He’s going to have some major housecleaning to do when he get into office in Jan of 2009. I do not envy him. After this grueling primary and the following brutal presidential race, he’ll be happy to be able to spell his last name or know which is up or down. This country’s political selection process is seriously screwed up, as should be obvious by now.
Even though I don’t think that he is liberal enough to represent this great country, I hope that once in office he’ll do the right thing. The future will tell.
