It’s late at night here on the East Coast and I seem to be ripping into Grandpa John McCain a lot lately…but I could not resist posting this, after reading this first-hand account of what really is going on between Georgia and Russia at this point. My guess is that Russia’s leadership will sign and allow the implementation of the peace accord that has just been signed by the slightly disturbed (but democratically elected) Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili, who will subsequently be ousted and democratically replaced by a more rational leader after the amount of miscalculation on Georgia’s part in attacking South Ossetia is confirmed. Another example of the U.S. backing a deranged (but, in this case, democratically elected) lunatic. We certainly know how to pick them, don’t we?
