Josh Marshall has this clip on his site, explaining how the U.S. Presidential race looks from the angle of the electoral college vote. Remember: in the U.S. elections are indirect. The founding fathers did not really trust the people to make this important decision without the intervention of middle-men. Very funny, but true.
I got some time this evening between several work-related projects to look at the political situation and it seems that at this point, 14 days before the election on 4 Nov., this thing is all but over. Only thing that remains to be seen is how big Senator Obama will win. But predictions are hard, especially when they are about the future, so I remain stoic in this mater. I don’t believe that the election of Senator Obama will make a big difference to the future of this country but it will be a small step in the right direction. As compared to a small step in the wrong direction, if Senator McCain gets elected. Senator McCain is a relic, Senator Obama is a centrist and my second choice. First choice would be Ralph Nader, if he was allowed to talk and run a real campaign in our odious two-party system. Over and out for tonite.
