runs contrary to the long-term interest of the state of Israel and its citizens. Killing innocent civilians is neither wise, nor self-defense. It is an act of terrorism. Same as sending home-made Qassam rockets into populated areas in order to terrorize the Israeli population. There are no good guys in this game and the resolution can not be achieved through more violence. Hamas is a repulsive fundamentalist organization that thrives on hatred for all Jews, Israel is a repulsive militaristic state whose policies consist of disproportionately violent and indiscriminate responses to provocations by the extreme opposite faction. Both, the Israeli and Hamas leadership are guilty of War-Crimes and breaking International law. In a just world, such crimes would be prosecuted and their repetition prevented.

As a citizen of the U.S. I am dismayed at my government’s official position of unquestioning support for Israel’s actions in Gaza. Such support is neither in the best interest of the U.S nor the State of Israel nor the citizens of Gaza or the stateless Palestinians.
