Had a little time on my hands this morning and scanned some right-wing blogs (see list below). Hätte ein wenig Zeit auf meinen Händen und heute Morgen gescannt einige Rechtsextremismus Blogs (siehe Liste unten). To my surprise the consensus on the right fringe seems the be that Barack Obama is some kind of leftist. Zu meiner Überraschung den Konsens auf der rechten Rand scheint die sein, dass Barack Obama ist eine Art linke. Huh? Can think of two explanations for this lack of fact-based thinking: Kann mir zwei Erklärungen für diesen Mangel an Fact-based Denken:

a) Painting Obama as a leftist will scare voters away and make him unelectable, ie, its a conscious strategy to influence the election. a) Malerei Obama als linke Wähler wird Angst weg und machen ihn unelectable, dh, seine eine bewusste Strategie zur Beeinflussung der Wahl.

b) Right-wingers have lost all connection with reality as it exists and actually believe that Barack Obama is Che Guevara re-incarnated. b) die Rechten verloren haben alle Zusammenhang mit der Realität, wie sie existiert und tatsächlich glauben, dass Barack Obama ist Che Guevara wieder inkarniert.

I think you have to be far out in right field to view Senator Obama as some kind of leftist. Ich denke, man muss weit in den rechten Bereich, um Senator Obama als eine Art linke. Obama is a centrist. Obama ist ein Mitte. That’s why he has a chance of being elected. Das ist der Grund, warum er eine Chance hat, der wird gewählt. Obama will very likely be the next president  of my country, even though he as lost my active support due to his vote in favor of the odious FISA "compromise" bill. Obama wird sehr wahrscheinlich der nächste Präsident meines Landes, auch wenn er als verloren meine aktive Unterstützung wegen seiner Abstimmung zu Gunsten der FISA abscheulich "Kompromiss" Rechnung.

Europeans are VERY enthusiastic about a prospective Obama presidency. Europäer sind sehr begeistert von einer prospektiven Obama Präsidentschaft. I was in Germany recently and heard nothing but praise for Obama. Ich war vor kurzem in Deutschland und gehört, nichts als Lob für Obama. The consensus there is that ANYTHING is better than the current US executive leadership, so the hurdles and expectations for Obama are low and easy to top. Der Konsens ist, dass alles besser ist als die aktuelle US-Exekutive Führung, so dass die Hürden und Erwartungen für Obama sind niedrig und leicht nach oben. One of my German friends told me that he personally believes that a black (or semi-black) candidate will not be able to win a Presidential election in the US, no matter how dismal the performance of his opponent. Einer meiner deutschen Freunde erzählten mir, dass er persönlich der Auffassung, dass eine schwarz (oder semi-schwarz) Kandidat wird nicht in der Lage, gewinnen Sie einen Präsidentschaftswahlen in den USA, egal wie trostlos die Leistung seines Gegners. He said that "people may profess to support him, but when they enter the privacy of a voting booth, they will not vote for him". Er sagte, dass "Menschen bekennen Mai zu unterstützen ihn, aber wenn sie in die Privatsphäre einer Wahlkabine, werden sie nicht an der Abstimmung für ihn". I bet 5 dollars against that assessment. Ich wette, 5 Dollar gegen diese Beurteilung. We shall see. Wir werden sehen.
