OK, there is some really important stuff going on on this little earth right now…looks like our esteemed General Petraeus is not sure if he really can withdraw as many US troops as he promised…146K US troops are currently in Iraq, plus about the same number of US contractors…making this a very expensive operation to sustain for, ah, 6 years. There is a good chance that the Presidential race may be decided by the undecided and uninformed American voter, as happened in 2004. “Operation Scheduled Departure” was a program rolled out by the Bush administration last month that encouraged undocumented immigrants to turn themselves in, in exchange for a 90-day period during which they could get their affairs in order before being deported. What does it really mean when someone says he/she is politically conservative? ¿Qué significa realmente cuando alguien dice que él / ella es políticamente conservador? What does it mean when someone says they are “left-leaning”? ¿Qué significa cuando alguien dice que son "izquierdista"? Labels like these have no predictive power and are thus completely meaningless. Etiquetas como estas no tienen poder predictivo y, por tanto, completamente carente de sentido.

In between some programming tasks today, stumbled upon this insightful article written by one of John McCain’s fellow POWs. Entre algunas tareas de programación hoy en día, tropecé a esta perspicaz artículo escrito por una de John McCain de compañeros prisioneros de guerra. This person was held as a prisoner of war for a couple years longer than McCain and brings an interesting perspective to the choice for President that we face pretty soon.
